Masterclass Workshop Series in Professional Relationship Skills and Influence

Being able to relate to other people well is a kind of superpower: It just makes everything else easier, including effective leadership and influence.

We tend to think of this as something we can only learn by trial and error. Not true. We can build our abilities systematically, with the right understanding and the right tools.

The trouble is, we may never be taught these things.

Gain a significant advantage through your relationship skills

This masterclass series is intended to give you the system you need to excel in your dealings with other people, at work or anywhere else. It’s based on the approach documented in my books Relationship Mastery: A Business Professional’s Guide and The Mastery of Leadership

It’s ideal for directors, managers, engineers, technology developers, manufacturers and other professionals who’ve had the experiences to know the importance of the subject.

The programme consists of a monthly online workshop of an hour and a half, in which I will (1) progressively convey the skills I have found so helpful and (2) suggest solutions to challenging interpersonal relationship issues you bring to the workshop. The programme is online to ease attendance and keep costs to a minimum.

Likely benefits you will experience include:

  • Building relationships more quickly and easily with people you meet
  • Resolving issues with colleagues you find challenging
  • Achieving the results you need to with people you have no authority over, and more easily with the ones you do
  • Helping others overcome their difficulties and conflicts
  • Finding work more enjoyable and rewarding

Testimonials

“This has been the most valuable workshop I’ve attended in a long time. David brings sharp, relevant advice and well-chosen references to every challenge we raise, which makes the sessions highly practical and engaging. The pace and structure of the workshop create space to reflect, try new approaches, and return with feedback and fresh observations. I have never experienced such a significant shift in my communication style as I have since working with David. His guidance is simple, actionable, and never obvious or repetitive – always focused and motivating. I also really appreciate the small-group format, which allows us to learn from each other’s experiences as managers and share our own challenges in a supportive way.”

Evgeniia Rosenzweig, Senior Sourcing Manager, Dover Fueling Solutions

“A very much needed chance to step back and analyse your own behaviour and think how you can adapt it to get a better outcome. Focussed on looking inward and taking responsibility for what you can control to get better results from important and/or difficult conversations.”

Mark Drummond, Engineering Manager, Mitsubishi Air Conditioning Systems Europe

“I’d like to recommend David Fraser’s book, ‘Relationship Mastery’. It’s full of very helpful information, in fact I’ve dog-eared several pages so I can refer back. As an event professional who specializes in helping corporate clients build relationships through events, Dr. Fraser’s book has been an invaluable resource.”

Karen Hansen, Director of Events & Hospitality at Royal Hospitality Group

“Having just read David’s book I now understand why he was so successful on our behalf and I would highly recommend his work to anyone looking to improve business efficiency and effectiveness through improving relationships.”

John Hanlon, Director of Estates, Naval Base Clyde

“David ‘gets’ people – what makes them tick, how relationships work (and don’t), and offers deep insight and expertise into how self-awareness can help improve our relationships to others, and the quality of our work-lives. Gently challenging and with a compassionate and light approach, David is a great ally to have when looking for a catalyst for change.”

How many people are in the workshop group?

Typically from about 8 through to 25. On any given day, some participants will have other commitments and so the number attending live will be fewer. Those who can’t make it catch up with the recording. The small group size provides opportunity for work on participants’ individual issues and opportunities.

Do participants have to join at the start of the programme?

No. Each workshop stands on its own and new participants can join after the first session to ease organisation of the programme. Once someone has joined the programme and decided it’s a fit for them, there is an expectation that they will stay engaged, even if they can’t make every session, unless or until they decide the programme is no longer adding value for them. Commitment is important for all participants.

How long does a programme last?

Participants stay with the programme for as long as they find it useful. The programme of workshops continues indefinitely. The Professional Relationship Skills Masterclass has a 12-topic structure, which takes around a year to work through progressively. After that, additional topics are introduced and previous ones revisited at a deeper level of detail. The peer-to-peer learning aspect is always included.

How does payment for the programme work?

The fee for the programme is a monthly figure. Many clients prefer to be invoiced for their attendance for payment by bank transfer. That can be organised monthly, or in blocks of months to cut down administration. Where several people from the same company are attending programmes, normally these will be invoiced in a single invoice, for one or a number of months. Payment by credit card can also be arranged.

Do you provide a discount for multiple months or attendees?

The programme fee is already set at an introductory level and anticipates payment for blocks of months and/or people. The programme is already very good value.

Can I receive individual coaching and support alongside the programme?

Yes. One-to-one sessions can be incorporated in the programme.

Can you deliver an in-house version of this programme to a group of our leaders?

Yes. In-house programmes have been delivered. Please get in touch to discuss the approach you need.
