Business Leaders’ Workshop Programme

The effectiveness of business leaders’ “mastermind” groups as an opportunity for learning and a safe space to discuss issues is well established.

This programme is a chance for business owners and leaders to engage in a highly time-efficient opportunity to have that peer group experience.

Strengthen yourself as a business leader

This new online group is ideal for business owners, managing directors, general managers, site directors and others in equivalent roles in manufacturing, engineering, technology development, biotech, medical devices, life sciences and scientific research, and service providers to those sectors who are looking for an easy-to-participate-in opportunity to get together with some of their peers.

The programme consists of a monthly meeting of an hour and a half, held online to ease attendance, keep costs to a minimum and attract a diverse, international group.

Meetings are structured in such a way as to ensure everyone derives individually relevant benefit and insight from each session.

The time is split between leadership challenges you bring to the workshop and topics relevant to leading your business or organisation.

Topics include:

  • Strategic thinking, implementing strategy and aligning an organisation
  • Achieving business results including sales and marketing
  • Leading change
  • Culture
  • Organisation and process
  • Developing leaders
  • Presence
  • Professional relationship skills and influence
  • Making decisions
  • General management
  • Dealing with the myriad issues that arise in leading a business or organisation

The learning is partly experiential and involves sharing experience and insight with peers, as well as learning new perspectives, approaches and skill ideas. Participants will meet and work with a diverse range of colleagues from across the sector, with a range of levels of experience.

The programme consists of a monthly online workshop of an hour and a half with a mix of conveying new skills and discussion of external engagement issues you bring to the workshop. The programme is online to ease attendance and keep costs to a minimum. A little reflection or reading time in advance of each session is required but there is no major pre-work.

How many people are in the workshop group?

Typically from about 6 through to 16. On any given day, some participants will have other commitments and so the number attending live will be fewer. Those who can’t make it catch up with the recording. The small group size provides opportunity for work on participants’ individual issues and opportunities.

Do participants have to join at the start of the programme?

No. Each workshop stands on its own and new participants can join after the first session to ease organisation of the programme. Once someone has joined the programme and decided it’s a fit for them, there is an expectation that they will stay engaged, even if they can’t make every session, unless or until they decide the programme is no longer adding value for them. Commitment is important for all participants.

How long does a programme last?

Participants stay with the programme for as long as they find it useful. The workshops continue indefinitely.

How does payment for the programme work?

The fee for the programme is a monthly figure. Many clients prefer to be invoiced for their attendance for payment by bank transfer. That can be organised monthly, or in blocks of months to cut down administration. Payment by credit card can also be arranged.

Do you provide a discount for multiple months or attendees?

The programme fee is already set at an introductory level and anticipates payment for blocks of months. The programme is already very good value.

Can I receive individual coaching and support alongside the programme?

Yes. The Business Leaders’ programme includes email support between meetings. One-to-one coaching sessions can also be incorporated in the programme.

What is the likelihood a competitor will be involved?

Care is taken to identify any potential difficulties in which participants could be in competing businesses or organisations. In the fairly unlikely event this is a real possibility, the situation is discussed prior to participation with the affected parties. Generally, the first committed party is given priority of participation. However, it’s very rare for such situations to arise.
